about

I had never worked on any type of car before I bought my Mustang, although I had often thought about it. I have some experience of welding and fabrication, albeit skills not used in fifteen years, but otherwise I began as a novice in this project.

The restoration of this car, like the purchase, wasn't really planned...it just kind of happened. That is to say it evolved...out of a process I've since learned is best described as "chasing ugly". I started properly working on the car over new year 2009/10, but of course I did not start my blog right then, so several of the posts are retrospective. The interior will probably end up looking a lot like the before shot, but without the ugly after-market ac!

The best piece of advice I got - and I forget how where I heard this - was to "join a mustang club". I don't think that I would have even started this project without the advice and encouragement I have received from members of the Bay Area Mustang Association, BAMA and contributors to the Vintage Mustang Forum, VMF.
